Major General Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd), established the “PRAN-RFL Group” in 1981; which is celebrated corporate in the sphere of Bangladesh trade, commerce & industry. PRAN-RFL Group’s manufactured products have earned extensive acceptability and acclaim both within the country and abroad. The supreme-soul of PRAN-RFL Group, Mr. Amjad Khan Chowdhury’s merit, far-sightedness, strong will and sincerity were the main catalyst.
Late Major General Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd.) was the Convener of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB). He was born in Natore, East Bengal, British India on 10 November 1937. He studied in Nabakumer institution. Mr. Chowdhury joined Pakistan Army in 1956. He was posted in 29 Cavalry as a Major during 1971 and was sent to West Pakistan. After the start of the Bangladesh Liberation War, he joined Bangladesh Army in 1973 after being repatriated from Pakistan. After the independence of Bangladesh, he served as the GOC of Comilla Cantonment and Bogra Cantonment. He retired from Bangladesh Army in 1981 with the rank of Major General.
Soldier-turned businessman, Maj Gen Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd.) was Chief Executive Officer of PRAN-RFL Group. Gen Chowdhury combines twin objectives of social values with profitability. Widely travelled he takes interest in agricultural, rural development and entrepreneurship.
Gen Chowdhury was the former present of MCCI (Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and industries), Founder of Bangladesh Agro-Processor’s Association (BAPA), Ex-present of Underprivileged Children’s Education Programme (UCEP), Ex-Vice President of Bangladesh Association of Public Listed Companies (BAPLC) and Ex-Director of Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) in Bangladesh.
